I'm not sure if the scale of the map ca be trusted, but the hole for the oubliette seems fairly large...
Also, I don't think we should think of
Tailor-Made Prison when the word "Oubliette" is brought up. More often than not, it's referring to the literal term of a prison whose only entrnce is a hole in the top.
Oh, another landmark I'd like to see explored: The Old Mansion. Haunted? Probably. (definitely)
edit: So, if the prisoner is a sorcerer of forbidden chaos magics, one idea of his experimens could be an effective immortaliby, by having his cells randomly remake themselves instead of dying off outright when hey reach apoptosis. As such, his body is periodically changing, to the point that he is not constantly a unicorn, or even a "he".
And that's how he escaped. He bided his time until his body became a pegasus long enough for him to fly out of the prison.
