Does that mean that Celestia actually tried to banish Luna to the depths of space, and she just wound up in the same place as all of Celestia's unwashed laundry and dishes?

No wonder Nightmare Moon was so pissed when she got back. Do you have any idea what dirty unmentionables and leftover veggie dogs smell like after a thousand years?

I thought we established that the moon was made of cheese.

Although the implication that Luna's purpose in life is to deal with Celestia's orbital garbage heap is pretty funny.

The moon doesn't have an atmosphere, so Luna wouldn't be able to smell anything.

She also wouldn't be able to breathe, but let's ignore that.

Maybe she doesn't need to breathe. Or she was in stasis. O she can hold her breath for a long time.

Well in the comics they seem to be able to breathe on the moon just fine. So I assume there's an atmosphere.

They pulled the moon down into the atmosphere though.

@Dalek: Didn't destroy Termina, so I doubt it'd be bad for Equestria :V

@Sereg: They pulled the moon closer, I'm not convinced that we know enough to say for sure it actually entered the atmosphere, and even if they did Rarity was up there prior to that point anyway.

However, it's odd seeing them with 'cartoony' heads and...not so cartoony bodies (pinkie in fishnets).

I do wonder how Luna kept herself entertained for 1000 years. After a while, stargazing just isn't going to cut it.

Post of the Day #369

I felt the same about Trixie's ending in Magic Duel, it felt very abrupt, but they put enough pathos into her that it actually worked and was rather heartwarming. Personality is usually what saves the show, maybe that's why Sombra in the Crystal Empire is such a sore spot for many.

@literal playing of Vinyl: Hmm... that does seem painful to Vinyl. I now have an idea for in case a pony comes by! -readies comb-
It's a Demonic Lighthouse Slide! WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! I beg of you, Durza, make it so.

Cleaning staff is too expensive. Much easier to replace everything after one use.

Staffs are way overpriced in general. Wands aren't too bad though.

@Yeller: I still lol at mages that are cripplingly dependant on foci to cast spells. You shouldn't need a fancy stick to pull mana and shape it :V

I've actually been watching the Harry Potter movies lately, and that's kind of bothering me. Wizards and Witches are, as children, able to willfully affect the world around them magically, so I don't really get why they actually need wands. I mean, surely it would be easier to simply learn to channel the power you already obviously have, rather than making yourself dependent on a channeling object. And yes, I'm aware that more powerful and older mages can use magic without the use of their wands, or even without incantations, but I don't understand why they don't just start with that, since kids do it anyways.

Granted, I suppose it's easier to have some form of direction - after all, with incantations and wands you can do magic you don't even know what it dopes, if you're a complete moron Harry why would you use a spell you have know knowledge of you fat twit.

I got the sense that the spells kids did without wands were highly unpredictable and based largely on their emotional state. I wouldn't expect an 11 year old to be all that good at controlling emotions. Only being able to cast spells if you're distraught, and then not having much control over what kind of spell you cast isn't very useful. Starting out with a focus to get consistent results makes sense.

Of course I fully agree that Harry is quite the dunce a lot of the time.
