Applejack is in desperate need of good episodes or else she'll be the least likable character in the group. (She's my least favorite)

There was a poll a while back (Equestria Daily?) where Applejack ranked behind Luna in popularity. This was before "Luna Eclipsed" aired.

That too, but mostly the fact that a year ago most of us probably wouldn't have been caught dead discussing My Little Pony.

Hell, I wondered back in March what the self of March 2010 would have thought of the prospect of him becoming a pony fan.

So, the time that Luna Eclipsed was shown - the 'hour later' time - is that the new official time, or does this episode air in the same timeslot as Lesson Zero, does anybody know?

I'd just really love to not have to wait 9 hours to get home from school to watch the new episode. I'm waaay more excited for this one than I was for Luna Eclipsed.

When I mentioned Pinkie Pie as not having a focus episode yet, I meant in this current season, not overall. I was referring to her being mentioned as one of the three main cast members to not get a focus episode yet in season 2.

I half-agree. There isn't enough Applejack love in the world, even though she's arguably the cutest pony.

On the other hand, I think her mane strength his how underspoken she is. EDIT: What I mean is, unlike the other ponies who have one big, bombastic event that define them and then proceed to be basically "types" in their non-focus episodes, Applejack is always doing little things that over time, add up into a composite and compelling whole. I kind of feel like if they did a whole episode focused on her, they'd either have to take her OOC or else it would be basically a retelling of "Applebuck Season, " both of which would probably hurt more than they help.

I agree. Applejack is a more subtle type of character than the others. Still, she needs some episodes or she'll end up pigeonholed as a supporting character. But yeah, her real nature is more apparent in her interactions with other characters than in what she does on her own.

On the other hand, we might get a new meme out of it.

Applejack - Quiet! I'm not gunna do a thang until I'm the official World's Highest Score Champion on Magical Chase! I jus' ain't!

Applebloom - And jus' think, ya'll bought that there vidya game for mah birthday.

So what exactly would differentiate that from Fall Weather Friends?

In Fall Weather Friends she wasn't that upset about losing, it was the fact that Rainbow was blatantly cheating.

There's what Crowfall said, and also "competitive streak" is open to contexts. Like maybe she wants to be the best at something, perhaps something like in my admittedly-facetious example which is causing her to neglect important things in favor of something that doesn't really matter much. Or perhaps someone claims her apples are too small, which causes her to want to make them bigger, which causes...

Anyway, Applejack's competitive streak is honestly the only thing I can see you building an AJ-centric episode around. Which probably just highlights the idea that Applejack is best when she's paired with somebody rather than trying to stand on her own four hoofs, but still.

Yeah, I can see that. Ironic that the pony most likely to survive being dropped off in the wilderness with no aid for a week is the one that would be least interesting actually doing so.

That would be depressingly soul crushing if not for the fact that we know how it turns out. Sad, yes, depressing, not quite. Really nice pictures, though.

After the first few seconds they cut to the actual images. It's just a quirk of Deviantart, I guess.

I don't think that just because Applejack has limited interests means it has to be hard to give her episodes. You can get plenty of mileage by taking her out of her comfort zone, like when Fluttershy became a model. Have Rarity trying to get a foothold in Manehattan circles and begging Applejack to introduce to her aunt and uncle's friends. We could see AJ putting on her upper class voice again. Or Twilight tries to help by introduce some magical methods to her farming that AJ just isn't comfortable with.

Too depressing. Have some laughs instead!
