Two scenes I found to be genuinely (but only mildly) disturbing were the first appearance of the Cockatrice, and the Hydra.

From Nightmare Fuel page, I think this is one of the worst offenders:

Apple Bloom's Imagine Spot about Ponyville sliding into chaos without Cheerilee teaching and Big Macintosh helping at Sweet Apple Acres is amusing, but it also features a disturbing shot of a severely-emaciated Lily.

I know, subjectivity and all, but seriously?

I think the main issue with the Nightmare Fuel pages are that most of the entries are more accurately Fridge Horror. They aren't scary in the context of the show; only when you think too hard about the implications.

@JT - Damn it JT, I will have you arrested for stealing words from my mouth. XD

It's a shame that Fridge Horror entries are allowed in the page as well. Really, the pages more or less overlap.

The only episodes that I genuinely found unsettling were the opening and finale of season 2, primarily because of Discord and the changelings.
Oh, no! They've all transformed into giant, Swedish, lederhosen-clad yodelers! Run!

I never found anything in Canterlot Wedding scary.

Chrysalis sending Twilight to Hellunderground mine, however, made me go HOLT SHIT!!! (I am sure some of you remember by liveblogging)

I think I'll read chapter 40 of Fallout: Equestria. Then maybe play Counter-Strike.

The only things I found creepy were that scene with the babies, and those freaky overly-long-legged animals in the Discord episodes Although that scene in Lesson Zero where it turns into a hellscape for a moment did catch me off guard.

Oh yeah, forgot about Lesson Zero. Crazy Twilight creeped me out, too.

I don't know. Creepy Twilight is the funniest (and destructive) Twilight. tongue

Yeah, pretty sure the only moment that freaked me out was Twilight getting dragged to hell.

Oh, I still found her funny. Just in the same way that I find the Joker funny.

But the problem is that the inherent subjectivity of those pages means there's no way to really keep them clear because the only other options are to either say that they have to be unanimous, at which point every page of every work is going to be blank, or rig up some sort of voting system which is just a pain in the butt.

Well it's supposed to be limited to one entry per person, but that just means that the clutter is directly proportional to how many troper fans there are. And we all know how popular MLP is.
Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.

@Irish - I don't know, I never found him to be funny. Very interesting and threatening, but not funny. Obviously this is just subjectivity.

-sighs- It is a shame that there is nothing we can do about this unqualified Nightmare Fuel and Awesome entries.

I think the creepiest moment I found was that hallway scene in Baby Cakes.

I think that is one moment that most people can agree.

That wasn't creepy. That was funny.

That was a moment that I found funny in the show itself, but later got a major case of Fridge Horror. After all, losing track of a child in your care is a very scary, very real event.

My personal belief is that if you have to think for it to be scary, then it belongs to Fridge Horror.

Of course, this is just me; why shouldn't Fridge Horror be Nightmare Fuel?

Well some people notice fridge logic immediately.

In that case, that wouldn't be a Fridge Horror.

Of course, that's just me; I have no intention to get into semantics, so take it any way you would like.

In any case, we need some higher ups to confirm if it's OK to start doing some pruning.

Oh, we're talking about how large swaths of the Nightmare Fuel page are silly.

Yeah, totally. I'm all for pruning that.
