Peronaly, my opinion is the line showing she was only demoted was cut becuase it let her off far to easy. Even for Equestria. She was just way to freaking uncaring and sociopathic to keep around. After the shit she did, she didn't deserve to stay at the camp.
And again it wasn't the what, it was the utter and total lack of giving a fuck over almost killing somepony.

I think kicking LD out is a bit extreme when she was basically going too far with what Spitfire herself told her to do earlier. A reprimand and demotion is much more reasonable in my opinion.
