No, this was made before 3.5 and is a parody. The real g3 and g3.5 are pretty straight forward to me, but this is really confusing. Why was the castle on fire? Why were they scared? What did they think the butterfly was? And at the end why were they acting okay about the cake? Why did they want to destroy they rainbow? And why did the pink pony eat cake?

Because early in the video Gumdrop Cutie wanted to eat cake, but the other ponies wouldn't let her because "cake makes ponies fat." they just draw pictures of cake. Then when everyone was panicking the pink pony broke down and started eating the crumbled remains of the cake.
