Which is why I would really appreciate it if the show would delve into EP powers and set us straight. Is a pinnacle example of an EP one with super strength? The ability to actively control plants? What exactly?

As far as Earth Ponies go, AJ and Big Mac embody the strongest farming power of Earth Ponies, while Pinkie has the strongest bardlike abilities and knows the lore that many ponies don't, like parasprites that Twi never even knew about until Zecora told her about them, and Mirror Pool her Nana told her about.

Asking Faust would be pretty irrelevant since she doesn't even work on the show anymore. A current writer would be more relevant but unless stated on the show it can still be overturned if say new writers are hired. Basically I don't think it really counts unless it's actually in the show or other piece of media. Otherwise IMO it's more or less just the writer's headcanon.

I'm just going to end the argument by saying we have insufficient evidence to argue it either way. Like Mio said; the only real example we have isn't exactly reliable.

Also, asking the writers probably wouldn't help much. They might respond, but it would probably be a joke.

I still wonder about the kind of patchwork government pre-Sisters Equestria must have looked like. I have no idea how you get three radically different nations to agree on that.

Also a bit of random unsubstantiated headcanon. . .

Pegasus= Greco-Roman (duh)

Earth Ponies= Germanic

Unicorns= Slavic

I like to headcanon some kinda thing of six ponies who rule the land with equal power. Princess Platinum, Commander Hurricane, Chancellor Puddinghead, Clover the Clever, Posey and Smart Cookie. This of course didn't last long since we know Discord took over Equestria pretty soon after it was founded.
