I can cook hamburger helper. Not very well though.

And hamburgers. And ravioli. That's about it.

I can cook spaghetti! And rice, too!

A blog of pony related recipes? Sounds like a good idea. It's about time I learned how to make a hay shake, a daisy and daffodil sandwich, or hay bacon strips. That's some good eating right there.

I'm actually a somewhat decent cook, though it takes me a couple tries with a new recipe to get things right. I can make some damn good orange chicken.

[up]There's gotta be a recipe for apple pie using Jack Daniels. Apple Jack Daniels pie...[lol]

I just throw together random foodstuffs that sound good together with varying results. If I have an easy recipe I can whip up something pretty decent.

Oh, and Celestia would be tropical and/or citrus fruit and Luna would be something like blueberries.

Remember those recipes that were released before the season finale? Has anyone actually managed to make whatever Cadence's recipe was? 'Cause it looked pretty complex to me.

I don't cook. I prefer my salads and sandwiches.

I can cook...

steaks and vindaloo(And various other forms of curry though none without appropriate cooking sauce of course) and potatoes in baked, boiled, scalloped and mashed, egss in omelet, scrambled and fried, porkchops of various recipes(And an ongoing experiment with peanut butter) and taco pie and tacos and burritos and pasta of all sorts and fish and pot roast and ribs and...

Look, the gist of it is I can cook. Cooking is honestly pretty easy. Just find a recipe and follow it. Once you get comfortable with something you can disregard the recipe. Cooking meat is as simple as you please, it's all a matter of flavoring. That... can get more complicated, but most places these days are happy to provide stuff to make actual ingredients irrelevant by virtue of cooking sauces and in some places, pre-seasoned meats, though I've always considered those kinda cheating.

Really, the hardest part about cooking for me is getting the timing right on various ingredients and not over or under cooking them.

[up]Seems fairly right... though I remember my biggest blunder in beef stew making... not turning on the crock pot! I obviously couldn't stomach the raw beef, and had to ditch the scrap.

[down]Fortunately, the family did not get plagued by the raw beef, and I was kinda tempted to finish my plate as punishment for not checking the crock pot.

[up] Oh my, I could see that being a problem. XD

I had a friend that made really good gluten-free brownies with applesauce. Wish I had gotten the recipe from her, but I'm pretty sure it's online somewhere.

You just might be a communist, then.

Buying stuff != communism.

[up][up][up]Oh geeze, I did something like that just a few weeks ago. The knob is broken, so I accidentally set it on the setting for keeping it warm once it's done cooking and left it there all day.

@Kegisak: Yeah, honestly it isn't that bad; most of the things are just "combine ingredients, stick in oven at appropriate temperature for an appropriate time". Pan frying stuff is a bit tougher, though still not that bad. The main reason I don't do it is because it's a pain in the butt to clean and you can't make as much food in it.

The main reason I don't cook much is because I just don't have time.

I was wondering why you had an exclamation point. Though, I thought the 'does not equal' was supposed to be written as =/=

@J Teeth: I prefer pan cooking to oven cooking because I find it enjoyable, but you're right that the cleanup is a pain in the ass.
Enlong avatar

[up][up] I have code on the brain. That's the way of saying "does not equal" in lots of coding languages.

Of course, most coding has == as "equals", rather than =

@Crow: The only reason I don't eat nothing but bacon is because I know how much of a pain it is to clean bacon grease out of a pan. It's also annoying because when you pan fry something you have to pay attention to it the whole time as opposed to shoving it in the oven and coming back later. I just don't have time to hover around the stove for 45 minutes.
