Also, Bon Bon has a card◊ and she's, well, Bon Bon and not Sweetie Drops (her toy name). There's also a Minuette card, which uses her toy name as oppose to her Fan Nickname, though I guess she's less known and Hasbro would probably never get away naming a character Colgate

Im pretty sure they can use the name Bon Bon if they wanted to. Despite it being the name of a G1 pony its also a candy.

Sort of how they could still use Applejack because its also a type of brandy.

At least I assume that is why they can still use Applejack

@Crow: Yeah, she was pretty happy to get her own card. I doubt she'll really appreciate that they sorted her with the villains, though. It was that sort of oversight that kept her from getting on a card the first time around.

he whole reason for being with Lyra Is Lyra is the town Conspricy Theorist, and whle no pony believes her, most of it is true (Except Bighoof) And bon-bon was assigned to make sure Lyra doesn't learn to much, or find out something she can use to prove that they exist.

Interestingly, an apparent production image◊ of blind bag wave 7 (Turtlebutter, you should look at it, since it lets you see what Barber Groomsby really looks like!) seems to show that Hasbro did have the name "Bon Bon" in mind, but ultimately decided to have the toyline name her "Sweetie Drops" instead. I really hope that the back of Enterplay's Bon Bon trading card provides an in-universe reason for her having two names, since it's just confusing when characters have multiple official names with no official explanation...

Maybe people forgot about it because Midnight Strike showed up right after that?

Barber Groomsby doesn't look quite as evil in that image as he does in real life. It looks like they intended for his eyes to be angled differently to make him look sleepy... but he ended up looking evil instead.

As far as I know, nopony actually does that. I was just trying to think up something that fit.
