As for Keepvid, the applet is just a thin client. In fact, it appears to simply call javascript functions on the webpage. The applet itself is probably safe, but given the amount of js manipulation they're doing, I wouldn't be surprised if there's an XSS hole on the site somehwere.

Another interesting thing is that they're doing Xml Http Requests to Youtube through client side js. I bet you could just grab the scripts off their site and run it yourself if you wanted.

Regarding the Synchtube issue, the creator basically got fed up with constantly having to fight off DDOS attacks from a certain image board, being too distracted to release the source code as a result. It's never happening.

As has been discovered in the Synchtube Troper Coven, though, there is an alternative: watch2gether.com

Well if they do release their sourcecode, I might try to set it up, depending on how complicated it is. I'd probably make my version private though.

Doing taxes is not a party. Trust me, I know.

Day 2 of the con for me. Saw a heavy pony presence on the floor today. I saw a Chrysalis, a Cadance, assorted Wonderbolts, and most of the Mane Six and CMC. No Rarity or Sweetie Belle though. As for actual people I saw John De Lancie and Tara Strong, wasn't willing to brave the lines for their autographs. I was also surprised to see Andy Price there. He was promoting the comic, naturally.
