I got an idea for you, a deposed Royal family ends up forced into piracy to survive, but they insist on following standards and not being murderous traitorous curs. The latest Princess of their bloodline becomes an Alicorn after she performs an amazing feat, uniting her fractitious crew and vanquishing an Old Beast of the Sea with the resulting Harmony

I still like my Princess Tetra idea.
