It's interesting that between Twilight disappearing and coming back as an Alicorn it turns from day to night. Did the rest of the Mane Six run around all day thinking they'd killed Twilight?

Something I noticed on a lighter note: In one scene, Lyra is bowing repeatedly to Twilight like a human would. In another, she's again jumping up and down excitedly while staring at the camera.

They were hiding the evidence.

@Bad Wolf Who: If they did you would think they would be a lot more teary eyed and generally emotional on her return. Still it does make me wonder.

And I would like to think she didn't die, she was teleported into an astral plane where only Alicorns can go.

Minutes after Twi got zapped, Spike coughed up a letter from Celestia saying "Don't worry, Twilight's fine, see you at sunset."

I can't help but wonder where will the writers go with this.

On one hand, if this sticks, then either Twilight or the rest of the mane six will probably go Out of Focus. It's probably hard to write plots about a superpowerful princess busy running the country. (Now imagine The West Wing, Equestria edition.) (I just also realized that they have another Physical God, Discord, as their ally now...)

On the other hand, it's very unlikely that the beginning of Season 4 will have her stripped of her title. This happened with so much fanfare (and she's "begun a new life"!) that it's not really something that can be taken back: "Well, that was fun, back to the status quo and let's never talk about this again!"

The only way this can go, I think, is a major shift... maybe to an adventure format? (Remember how King Sombra was supposed to be a recurring villain throughout Season 3? Maybe they'll dust off this concept.) Except, as already noted, with so many powerful entities on the good guys' side it would be probably hard to challenge them credibly.

@Applelight, It was towed, not crashed, all that suffered was the $125 paid to get it back. The university I visited can't be bothered to properly define it's parking zones for those with passes.

Or even HAVE parking zones for visitors.

I don't think she died either. It would be out of place for the show, and it would imply that Celestia is also dead, which obviously isn't the case. I'm guessing that she just got teleported someplace.

@Mousa: Sucks to hear about the car. Those things can be a pain in the butt sometimes. A few weeks ago I got pulled over for having an expired inspection sticker (My parents had said they were going to take it to the inspector, but a family emergency resulted in them forgetting). Fortunately I didn't get any marks on my license.

For me this episode also conforms the fast growing power of eps. As AJ fixed that wasteland in no time.

So thoughts: doing it in musical style was interesting. And it had a fwe good gags, like Pinkie's water glass and Rainbow Dash being left in the pot. But it was also very rushed. Overall, it's an ok episode, but not one of the better ones.

Also, Congratulations Rarity, you're the new Rainbow Dash!

My opinion: Magical Mystery Cure should have stretched out the cutie mark switcheroo plotline to one full episode, and then ended with the cliffhanger of the finished spell causing Twilight to disappear on everyone.

And then the actual final episode, whatever it's called, focuses on the alicornication/princessification. Talking to Celestia about what's happening and why, reassuring the other five that she's still the same Twilight even though she's getting a major promotion, the celebration, etc.

Too much singing gives a vibe of Mundane Made Awesome.

They should have prolonged the 2001 sequence. We should have seen the ghosts of Alicorns past, present, and future, singing in choir about Twilight's fate. Also, a white egg rather than a black monolith.

Loved the gags in this one. Alicorn pinkie and the spit take made me laugh through the feels. Oh and dash in the cooking pot.

Celestia is preparing for something, gathering allies, strengthening her forces. Something big, dangerous is coming. That's way they wanted Crystal Empire restored now, reformed Discord and upgraded Twilight

I can agree on that. Pinkamena Pinkie is ultra cute.

I liked a lot of the songs, and I agree the episode would have been better served as a two-parter but needs must, nobody's perfect and they didn't exactly have a lot of episode to work with.
