I wonder why we haven't seen any Crystal Pony guards yet.

I was interested to see them not mention her claustrophobia by name, but make it perfectly clear what was going on with her.

Show, not tell, right?

There were previous ensemble episodes she didn't freak out (at least not exceptionally) even if most of them were admitedly early on, prior to her OCD neuroses getting exagerrated.

Yeah, but this was a first in that it was one where she was planning something big, only for it to all fall apart around her, and for her to not go nuts over it.

Maybe the whole thing started when Winter Wrap-Up had her think "I'm reallly good at organizing things".

It's clear her Season 2 freakouts are due to PTSD from Discord messing with her.

Maybe she runs an egg farm or something.

Anyway, I'd tend to put Shining Armor's age around maybe 30-ish. Which is a bit young to run the military, but it probably works a bit differently in Equestria.

Well, we know what's gonna happen, so it's good she learns to calm the fuck down first.

That was a fun episode. Predictable, but I think that sort of helped it, if that makes sense. Cadance and SA had some pretty great faces a few times.

Not explicitly, but it showed that the mane six were called for a job, not for a vacation. Which makes it plausible that no one would realize Spike might want to come.

I dunno. I have a hard time seeing Twilight as more than, say, 22 at the oldest, and an eight-year difference, while possible, doesn't seem quite right to me. I'd guess maybe a 2-4 year difference.

@Meta: That's pretty much how I saw it as well. Heck, they probably thought they were giving Spike a break by not making him go along.

But given what's happening next episode, Twilight freakouts should become even funnier. Lets not get rid of her OCD just yet.

I admit it's only really made significant due to them actually lampshading it in excess in the previous episode. It actually happens to Spike a lot in the series due to plot convinience (he was kept out of Twilight's birthday party of all things) but since he was never shown bummed about it, it didn't carry much weight. As the episode's page notes, simply not pointing it out would have probably avoided the issue (and diminished a lot of the Unintentionally Sympathetic complaints concerning the episode).

I admit I like development, but I wouldn't want Twilight's neuroses to go completely, they are largely what led me to feel she wasn't bland after all. While I like a flaw being moderated better, I hate when a defining one goes away near completely (as seen with my over the top butt hurt over AJ's short temper).

Of course, if the epic quest involved helping Rarity he'd drop everything and beg to join in the quest

It was... alright? Certainly not a bad episode, although I'm sure SOMEONE will think so, but I doubt it's making anyone's favourites list.

I've yet to see anyone express disappointment with the episode, though I haven't been to the more volatile sites yet.
