Yeah, another break, but I suppose with the limited number of episodes, we knew it was coming. We'll see more Pony in February. In the meantime, I'll be diving into My Little Pony Tales and also watching The End of Flutter Valley.

I've brought up the lack of Cheerilee this season a few weeks ago I think. Seriously, does this season just take place during the summer and she's off being BFF with Derpy, the Cakes, and Mayor or something? Kinda funny if you consider she was put into the show in part so they could keep making Cheerilee toys. She was the original toy-ad pony, but no we have pretty pink pony princesses now we don't need best teacher apparently.

Also, I found Scootaloo saying "I've always wanted to go to the Crystal Empire!" Kinda... odd. She's always wanted to go to a place that's only been around and known about for a few months? Maybe she really is Celestia's daughter! :P

Aww, nice. Good to see Screw Loose is getting better. She still looks like a bit of a mess though.

I guess Big Mac and Cheerilee are friends? I'd like to see more of that. Come on show. Last time you focused on them they were crazy for most of the episode.

I was so busy focusing on the blue pony and thinking "Was that Screwloose?", that I completely missed Cheeri Mac.

the animators even showed a nurse nearby checking in on her. They really do still care

@Calnos: Maybe the Crystal Empire shows up occasionally in adventure stories. It could be like saying you've always wanted to see Atlantis.

Yeah, this season hasn't given the secondary Ponyville ponies much time. Hopefully when season 4 roles around we'll get more Cheerilee, Cakes, and Mayor. Although I do like the fact that this season has been bringing back previous characters more often; I like seeing existing characters get developed more than introducing new ones all the time.

Glad to see Screw feeling better.

You know one thing that I didn't really like about the episode was that they decided to write out Pee-Wee after him only appearing at the end of a single episode. Seemed like a real waste to me.

@Calnos: Yeah, I think this season takes place during summer break. There hasn't been a single shot of the school since season 2.

@Mio: I kinda agree. I did like that they showed us what happened to Pee Wee but I feel that what those pictures showed could've been worked into a full episode. Still, I'm glad they didn't just forget and it was still sweet to see what happened to him.

I'm using Twilight as a point of reference; she didn't know what the Crystal Empire was when Celestia told her, and we all know how much she likes books (adventure books, even). That would seem to suggest there aren't any legends/myths/stories etc about the long lost crystal land to the north, but then again maybe historical mythology just isn't Twilight's favorite genre.

Anyways, I'm hungry. To breakfast!

@Mio: I get the idea that the writers either weren't sure what to do with Peewee, or that they realized the Unfortunate Implications of kidnapping and wanted to address it. Best to explain it now, because it would be a gaping plot hole in the episode if they didn't.

Also now we need a name for the girl scout pony.

Yeah, at least showing some Peewee was better than the alternative.

@Calnos: Unless over the centuries as the Crystal Empire faded into myth it became known by a different name. So Twilight may have known of it, but what it was really called. And Celestia still gave her the history lesson because the myths were horribly inaccurate. But now that the Empire is common knowledge, everypony knows about its connection to ancient legends.

Or Scootaloo was exaggerating. She's always wanted to go since episode 3 of Series 3.

I figure it's an exaggerated way of saying she's wanted to go to the Crystal Empire ever since she learned of its existence. Sure, she's only known about it for a few months, but months are practically forever to a filly her age.

So I'm now officially Uli/Uill. That's nice, I guess.

For the record, Uilleam is just the Scots Gaelic version of William, since that's kind of my real name. To say it, just say "William". Sorted.

...and I haven't watched the new episode yet. So no discussion for me :(
