Okay, I totally understand that.

I believe both Fluttershy and Discord were totally in-character anyway. Fluttershy constantly wanted to believe Discord would reform because she's naturally forgivable and quite the patsy, something we've been seeing since Episode 1. I do feel that Discord's resolution was the right way to end it, but it just happened TOO QUICKLY!

Slightly different when you job is to critique things - and therefore not only can everything you say be taken as recognized as only opinion, because critics should by definition recognize that tastes are wholly subjective, but you're also generally seen as an expert on the medium and therefore people are more likely to actually take your opinion as being something close to fact - than when you're a fan on the internet, though. In essence, it takes no effort at all to change the wording from 'this' to 'I think this', and you'll come across less... abrasive at times.

Also the word you're thinking of is Rehash, not rehearsal.

I feel like it should be said that this IS a Children's TV show. While it certainly goes beyond there demographic into others as well, this is still mostly made for them.

I actually think a lot of people don't give Fluttershy enough credit. She seems at least partially aware that Discord is trying to take advantage of her, but she also knows that if she cracks and freaks out, he'd enjoy that, especially since it would make her look stupid in front of her friends. The other thing is that it's the only time (as far as we know) that someone did something for Discord purely for his benefit rather than because they wanted something from him. Even Celestia only lets him out because she thinks she can gain something.

Ditto. If they had pulled this in an adults show it would be much harder to swallow. As is, the setting is idealized enough that I think it works. My only gripe is that it should have been a bit longer; maybe add a subplot that shows Fluttershy doubting whether she did the right thing in siding with Discord over her friends.

Did Discord fix Twi's books in the process of fixing Sweet Apple Acres? Because it's likely she's missing several spells, not just the "reform villain spells".

Speaking of which is sounded like Twilight actively needed to know the spell to use the Elements of Harmony like that... So... Did she conveniently memorize this spell when she was fighting Nightmare Moon? Why?

I done seen the episode. Fluttershy be playing dem mindgames. Discord is reformed kinda. It was an excellent episode.

I think my favorite part was the endlessly rotating house.

Well, I certainly enjoyed the episode. Definitely a nice way to get back into it, and nice to have my fears assuaged. For now though, I must away. Need to have a shower, and then I'm off to see Les Mis. Later all!

Then again the kid got a script of his turned into an episode. That Teddy Antonio is one really lucky kid. I may not have liked his episode but he did managed to write one and get it animated.

And I just realized that yesterday morning I should have been linking "One Day More" videos everywhere. Oh well.

Honestly I'm not a huge fan of Discord's humour, so this episode wasn't that great for me. Still good though. My favourite parts were probably the bits with Angel. Mostly fearless.

I wonder if they could have cut out the part with Twilight looking for a reforming spell to give more time for the ending.

Yeah. It does seems to open up a few plot holes and inconsistencies.

If anything they should have cut the bit with Fluttershy and Applejack talking to the beaver at the beginning. It didn't really do anything; you don't really need to establish that the beavers do that sort of thing.
