More underestimating of ponies. Rainbow Dash can fly at mach 10. Other ponies can react to her and even catch her. Therefore, Shining Armour can pobably raise a shield in the time that it takes for a bullet to reach him. Twilight is a weakling by pony standards and can carry multiple tons. Rainbow Dash can fly while carrying 5000 times her weight! Applejack is even stronger! Four ponies can pull a train overnight. Big Mac can rip a two story house out of the ground and casually drag it. Rainbow Dash can create tornados by herself and they get stronger with each pegasus helping. Shining's shield could punt a horde of changelings over the horizon. Big Mac could do that physically. Rainbow Dash can fly through wood. She flew straight into the ground at sonic rainboom speeds and was unfazed. Twilight had a cartload of stuff including an anvil dropped on her and was fine soon after. Rainbow Dash can make 90 degree turns in mid-air! She can smash rocks from beyond where she is visible. Twilight can smash through crystal with her spells and Rarity has a similar ability. That's not getting into telekinesis or transmutation.

In a fight between pegasi and an A-10, never mind their weather manipulation. What's to stop the pegasi from grabbing and throwing it?

Well, monks can walk on stairs of knives and meditate until the snow melts around them. Russians wrestle bears. Australians just have to not get horribly murdered every day by the aggro wildlife. Kenyans just run after their hunting prey until it drops from exhaustion.

Also there are people who literally eat steel.

Maybe our mechanization isn't hardcore enough yet :V

A-10 are ground attack aircraft, why the hell would it be engaging an aerial target? and half the rest of what you said was either under unusual/extreme circumstances or grossly exaggerated. RD flying with 5000 times her weight? wut?

Rainbow Dash pulled over 1000 Gs while carrying four other ponies. That means she can fly while carrying over 5000 times her weight.

And Big Mac didn't punt changelings, but he did fling ponies in Lesson Zero.

I'm not exagerating.

Unusual circumstances is admittedly possible in some of those cases though.

I'd also argue that Dash wasn't flying mach 10 with the sonic rainboom. as a fic author I enjoy pointed out(check the final part), regardless of what math based on angles of a mach cone created by by animators who probably don't know too much about aeronautics may say, it's called a sonic rainboom. Named after a sonic boom. Which occurs at mach 1. and thus she wasn't pulling 1000Gs or 5000 times her wight. which would just be absurd.

as for unusual circumstances, big mac could only pull the house because love poison and buck off the whole town because want it / need it, and anything Twilight does is an unusual circumstance because she's a magic prodigy way more powerful than your average unicorn.

Shinings shield spell didn't punt a changeling army, shining and cadances love bomb did that. totally different things. and even then, it only effected changeling, likely because of their strong connection to love. there's no telling if it would even work on other things.

Twilight surviving a piano dropped on her was pure Rule of Funny / Toon Physics and really shouldn't be brought up in any kind of Rl comparison.

Yeah, I think Mach 1 is Dashie's limit (it's still highly impressive!), and that yes, Mac was under the effect of a love poison, but this just makes him turn off all his inhibitors rather than giving him a strength boost per say.

you know, my last post made me realize, every time Big mac has done something physically impressive, he's been under some type of magical influence.

Big Mac's yoke is a restraining bolt, but a rather flimsy one. The presence of other magical effects can interfere enough to cause it to shut down.

Pinkie says in the episode that pegasi can make sonic booms without making rainbows, proving that pegasi are faster than mach 1 (in fact, proving that a sonic rainboom is way over mach 1 or at least 1 pegasus would have managed it in living memory). As for the animators not knowing what they are drawing, it's the only indication we have and is thus what we should use. There is no Word Of God contradiction.

There is also no evidence that Big Mac's strength was derived from the love potion and ponies have performed enormous feats of strength without any love magic before.

Cadance's power boosted Shining's shield, but it was still his shield.

As for Toon Physics, how their powers work is irrelevant as long as they work.

Anyway, My favourite ponyfic has ended up on 6-star reviews! Disagree that Luna was unlikable though (well, except in the sequel where she was the antagonist)

It's just, with the power level you're claiming, everypony is basically Superman. The Everfree would have been tamed ages ago. Diamond Dogs would never have been a threat. Timberwolves? please. There would be no threats to equestria even without the princesses.

Unless you want to start speculating that native flora and fauna are just as powerful. In which case you're getting into DBZ levels of power escalation.

@Blissey: Given that Sereg's general consideration of the power level of the Princesses involves destroying the solar system with little effort, mentioning Dragon Ball Z to him is only going to give him ideas. Or it would if he wasn't already familiar with the queen of needless power escalation, Medaka Box.

The show has proven that the other animals are in the same category of power. Look at the butterflies lifting Fluttershy. Or able to engage in a tug of war with her. RL butterflies wouldn't be able to lift the rope! Not to mention their mind affecting abilities. Then there's Tank lifting the boulder. Then Spike actualy able to have an effect fighting three diamond dogs, each multiple times his size. And the show went way beyond DBZ the instant they introduced Discord. Even Celestia has demonstrated the power to fit in with that cast. But Superman is still way more powerful than that. There are a lot of insanely powerful verses out there.
