I honestly haven't thought about it that hard. Seriously, all I really have set in stone is the name and the character concept.

Yeah, the first conversation was about humanizations, which was a bit odd, but nothing out of the ordinary for this thread. The thing is, it kept coming back like all the time for some reason, to the point that that's what it's remembered for.

After a while, it was mostly people complaining about it. And then it just turned into the recurring 'Pony boo*shot' thing.

Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.

Right, but Dave would just assume it was some kind of Universe B drink and the way those guys talk I seriously think they could make it through an hour of complete bullshit without figuring out they weren't talking about the same thing.

Are we still talking OCs? I've been thinking lately about a tumblr or something following the Everfree Forest Expedition team that I was drawing most days for ATG. The fact that I've never used tumblr is something of a detriment, though, as is the fact that I doubt anyone would actually read it. And then of course there's my own lazin

By the way, Mr Ahr/Atticus Finch is female as well. And back in the early days of the thread, there was Central Avenue.

Also, I doubt they could actually go an hour, unless they were pretending to not know for irony. People aren't actually that dumb.

^^ Dirk might figure it out and go into irony, but I think Dave would be more likely to lose interest in the argument before he figured it out.

Looks pretty good to me. Possible areas to work on: The waves are too jagged. Also, the figurehead looks strange since it uses much thinner lines than the rest. I'm not really sure what to do about it, since it's too small to use thick lines on.

Think of the trains or that blimp which where in the show. Very 'cartoony' looking compared to this.

@Apple: Sure, but that doesn't necessarily mean you're tick to the same aesthetic. I've seen lots of good pony art that's just a step or so closer to realism that your boat would look right at home in. I couldn't recall exactly where your style was on the spectrum. :P

@story: Man, talk about an aesthetic that blew my expectations out of the water. Actually, that applies to MLP, too...

I guess so. It helps that I see the griffons as comically serious...so maybe this can be reflected in their designs?

EDIT:

I'm thinking of going public with this comic concept on my deviant art very soon. I have a few watchers after I did a couple of simple colourings of an artist by the name of catstuxedo's work.

Phew. Done with the character lines, now I just need to draw objects and background, and then color. I'm gonna have to make some layer adjustments, too, since I've been pretty lazy about how I'm organizing them right now, but it shouldn't be too much trouble with a little luck.
