It took me a while to figure out whether the footage from Boast Busters shown in Magic Duel was Stock Footage or not. It turns out that some of the footage had actually been retconned to make Twilight's magic aura consistent with her current color.

@Sereg: Funny you should mention that after me re-posting The Legend of the Three Kings yesterday... one of the big things that I put forward in the legend is that the need to keep things moving is due to the fact that when the three races were first born they went to war to determine which of them was superior. In this days their magic was much stronger, so they basically destroyed the world, and the only way to keep the planet from crumbling to dust was to manualoly control every process.

Of course, considering that was millions of years ago they've jump-started it enough that everything functions mostly as normal now. Equestrian territory is a bit 'lazy', buyt if they left it be it would start to function naturally again, as do most places outside of Equestria. Ponies only need intervene where normal functions are non-habitable, such as Acmippo(The pegasi living there constantly fend off the storms and winter winds that would freeze their kingdom solid at the high altitudes and longitudes of the countr) and El'Bia(The EP's use their magic to make plants grow in the barren desert).

There are, however, still a lot of magical hotspots where things are either completely fucked(Such as a mile-diameter pillar of water shooting into the sky in the middle of the ocean), or just straight up dead. T Yhe planet is well on it's way to rebuilding, but it's still damn broken.

What a shame.

I tend to take it as the world is completely natural by it's standards. The Everfree while more natural by our's is the outlier. And that anything can grow plants.

@Kegi: Interesting.I also suspected that after Discord's defeat, there was a large war between the members of the Cosmic Council (though I didn't know they were called this at the time) to decide the borders of the various countries that also seriously messed stuff up and resulted in an agreement that they wouldn't ever use their powers in direct combat again (breaking the treaty renders you immune from it's protection which is why Celestia was able to attack Chrysalis).

EDIT:Admittedly, I'm basing my assumptions heavily on the comics (the bad ones) and a literal interpretation of Hearth's Warming Eve.

So I missed the IDW comic discussion, but if you're like me and can't get to a place that'll have a hardcopy, IDW does digital distro too, and for this they are now best comic company.

Debit cards work online same as a credit card, they just don't use the word debit card because credit card has a larger presence in the the world vocabulary.

I'm with Badwolf on this one. The world just has a different cosmology than ours; it doesn't need to have been broken or something, it just works differently. It can function on it's own, but it works best when ponies utilize it. And I do think stuff can grow on it's own, but Earth Ponies are far better.

Also, just got an email that my S1 box set has shipped. Should be here in a day or two.

I don't know...they did say that food could only be grown by the Earth Ponies. Not that only good food could be grown by the Earths.

They said that only the Earth Ponies could grow enough food. I like to think that the mere existence of Earth Ponies makes food scarcity a non-issue in pony-populated regions.
