Looks like it. I'll bet that Nightmare Moon is the reason it's called Nightmare Night, and Pinkie took them to a shrine in the forest as part of a Nightmare Night tradition/superstition.

Exactly! He's Genre Savvy and intelligent. He enjoys what he does, but I never got the sense that he wasn't in his right mind at any point.
