I read the first chapter, and that was it.

Anyway, today I've read three chapters in a story I dislike and one chapter in a story I hate. I really need to get back to my own stories.

The other day someone told me that they couldn't bring themselves to read my story because most of the characters were assholes and the story was relentlessly ugly and mean-spirited. Brought that up in the Pony fan fiction thread, another person who reads my story agrees. That's kind of funny, given my complaints about Fallout: Equestria.

yeah that's kind of one of the reasons I'm not that interested, just from what you've said it sounds rather, mean spirited would be good.

And yes I don't feel that way about FOE, the only just purely mean spirited thing I can really see there is the whole Diamond Tiara thing, even then it does somewhat, if only barely, serve a purpose in the overall story. It's also why I refuse to read Project Horizons. FOE is damn dark, and a lot of mean shit and bad stuff happening yes, but it's all for a point, it's made clear from the start that it is not right, this is not how ponies should have to act, and the overall message of the story is hope, that no matter how dark, how grim, how brutal thing seem, there is always hope, and that sometimes all it takes is a single spark to ignite those fires and cleanse the darkness away.
