@Ed: The freaky thing is that I got off easy; I only lost power for about 24 hours (my apartment building is in an area with no trees and isn't prone to flooding, and it's in the same part of the grid as a hospital, so it generally gets high priority), and other than that not much happened. Some people probably won't have power for days yet. And if you live near the coast...yeah, you're in trouble. The tidal surge was something utterly ridiculous. Like 17 feet or something. The news has dozens of pictures of boats sitting in the middle of roadways and such, and at some parts of the short the beach literally got moved hundreds of feet inland. As in, the ocean picked the beach up and dumped it on the towns.

Yeah, I saw two things that stuck in my mind: There was a fire in Queens during the storm, and a hospital got flooded out and the staff had to carry patients out, some of them down 15 flights of stairs.

Also, anyone else hear about the guards at the Tomb of the Unknowns not leaving to take shelter? That's dedication right there.

Indeed. There was actually a transformer fire someplace near NYC that ended up wiping out like a hundred houses, and no one could do anything about it because the streets were too flooded to get firetrucks in. They showed some of the aftermath, and no joke, it looks like the apocalypse hit.

Yeah those gaurds NEVER leave their post those are some seriously dedicated soldiers there and they deserve massive respect for it.

As to me, I'm like a few miles from the coast, sitting like 500 feet from an inlet tied directly to Rehoboth Bay, which only has a small strip of land keeping it separate from the ocean (A strip of land that didn't exist in the storm, and i got nothing, no flooding no power loss nothing.

Those guards deserve serious props. Wow, this storm has been insane.

And here's a reminder: Filly Twilight is the cutest thing in the universe.
