Re-posting from this morning:

Anyway, I have a serious question for those who have the Royal Pony Wedding DVD. Does the sound level fluctuate for approximately the first 2:30 of A Canterlot Wedding, Part 1, or is it just my copy? It's especially noticeable when Twilight says, "Pinkie Pie, I can think of no one more qualified than you to host the reception", and during the opening theme.

@Syd. I can hear a bit of fluctuation during the intro, but nothing too noticeable other than that.

Random/silly question.

How likely is that Twilight can cast herself a shield that will enable her to survive getting blasted through five large marble pillars?

Hey Meta Four. Can you add [Live Reactions] to the thread title? Apparently, the new spoiler policy reuqires marking the type of thread in the title.
Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.

@d Roy Survive? Probably. Be conscious/in any condition to do anything whatsoever afterwards? Probably not. Of course, that's just me.

@CDRW: That's pretty cool. Did you record that on an actual keyboard or did you use a sequencer of some kind?

I guess it's on all copies, then. Thanks.

[up][up] I used Muse Score and a downloaded soundfont. I can't play keyboard, and it would be pretty hard to play anyways, you'd need very large hands to make the stretches.

Knowing Twilight's spells, I think a good follow-up question would be, "What are the odds of something going hilariously wrong?" [lol]

[up][up]I'd love to record stuff, but I much prefer actually playing it to sequencing. I wish I had a way to connect my keyboard to my laptop. I'm sure there is a way, but I don't know anything about recording.

@Syd Twilight's spells failing is a kinda silly fandom cliche, IMO. They rarely ever fail. When they do go wrong, its because they've Gone Horribly Right more than anything.

[up][up]I'm afraid I have no idea how you'd go about doing that. My university library has some computers with keyboards hooked up to them, so you might want to check if there's a library near you that has the same. You can find some surprising stuff at the library.

Where I am, I doubt it. Unless I went to a university library or something, and even then I'd probably need a student card to get in. Oh well, I'll just download muse score and muck around in it a bit when I have some free time (which will probably be never, but one can hope).

As far as I know, most modern keyboards should have at least MIDI output, and you should be able to get the relevant USB cable from whoever manufactured your keyboard. My dad records stuff all the time, and he doesn't have any trouble hooking whatever keyboards he has up to his computers.

[up][up] You can download the fluid soundfont on the musescore site. That's the one I like to use. The one that comes with the program is pretty ugly.

[up][up]I'm pretty sure I have hooked my keyboard up to my computer at some point. It's more a question of whether I can figure out how to get it to worktongue

[up]Cool, I'll try to remember to look it up. Also why am I trying to do so many projects? Arg.

@Syd: IIRC, Shout Factory says they accept exchanges on discs with the audio flux error. Toss them an e-mail.

Wait Luna how did you not notice the air conditioning went dead

What do they call it when your bedmate starts being inappropriate to you while dreaming?

So in case nobody wants to poke through the current Weegee spam, here.

It looks like the (adorable) girl cosplaying Derpy can actually do the eye thing, and yes I'm jelly.
