You know, after MMDW we never see Scootlaloo do any more fangirling of RD. . .is it character development, shallow infatuation, or lack of character focus? Probably the last one, but it's an interesting observation anyway.

Hopefully we get some hints of Scoot's family, I'm kinda tired of the orphan Scootaloo fanon.

I could see it becomng a running ag that every time Scots would mention her family or they might be seen, something interrupts of obscures them.

That would be interesting for a while, but I can easily see that getting old.

I mean, there's only so many ways you can get around answering the question "How does Strong Bad type with boxing gloves on" before it gets dull.

I guess it would depend on the amount of effort they put into obscuring/interrupting it; creative new ways to do so would be a lot more fun than, for example, the same sound covering her voice every time.

And yes, I am over-analyzing humor.

[up][up]I'm not sure. I guess they could make that joke, but that sort of thing only really makes sense if they had been doing it from the beginning, or are pandering to fans who would speculate on those sort of things, which I don't see them doing post-Last Roundup.

I've seen things maintain running jokes for quite a while. You just have to get creative and start playing increasingly elaborate subersions, inversions, etc. Also, you need to only reference it once in a while so it's completely unexpected when it comes up aain. A good example is the Flumph gag in OOTS.

So, Spitfire is an inspiration to Rainbow Dash who is an inspiration to Scootaloo who will evidently in turn become an inspiration to Pound (the Pegasus one, right?) Cake. It all makes sense.

Now we need a flashforward so we can see a Pegasus even younger than Pound.

I like the idea of Carrot Cake being Carrot Top's uncle. Also, I read somewhere an idea that I've headcannoned, specifically that Cup's maiden name is "O'Sugar". Finally, Mulia Mild, Donut Joe and Gustave all seemed to have met Pinkie before, so it's possible that they've been rivals with the Cakes for a long time. Well, not to long and bitterly in Donut Joe's case as Pinkie was happy to spend time with him after the Grand Galloping Gala.

Outside of their schools, pegasi might have a system of mentors to help with further education.

Pinkie'd be happy to spend time being tied to a spit and roasted golden-brown if the possibility of donuts and eating them were part of the equation.

@Badwolf: I like that idea. Also, how goes the story of Snowcatcher the Irreverent? I'm looking forward to it. It's a tale which needs to be told!

@VVP: Point.

Pound Cake is already a better flier than Scootaloo, though, so the inspiration would need to come from a different source in that case.

[up][up][up]I'm not sure if a cooked pinkie is something he would find appealing.tongue

[up]That depends on if that has something to do with him being infant.

Pinkie all oiled up is a different story :V

Anyways I expect to see a magic mirror play a role in Season 3.

Also a name which needs to get told. I don't think it's spread beyond TV Tropes at all.

Personally, I like the idea of Pound and Pumpkin being unusually talented. Which is why I want Pumpkin to go to Celestia's school (or better still, become Twilight's apprentice) and Pound to become a Wonderbolt eventually (though he'd take longer even than RD to get there and until then would simply be relying on his unusually large (for a pegasus) strength).

EDIT:[up]I've at least mentioned it before over at RPG.net and in my blog at fimfiction.

EDIT: Which is what Sereg just asked...

Basically I'm terrible at motivating myself so there have been about a thousand words written for it.

@Sereg: I'm not averse to the idea, it's just that I don't think there's any reason to think that's the case. If they were intended to be abnormally talented I don't think they would have introduced that whole "power fluctuation" thing if it wasn't an excuse to explain why Pound and Pumpkin were so overpowered for babies.

Even if the fact that they were able to fly/use magic was due to magical surges or some such phenomenon , the way they actually used those abilities suggested some level of aptitude for them. Pound Cake was able to reverse his lift to walk on ceilings, and Pumpkin Cake was able to cast a very specific spell to get what she wanted (phasing through solid objects).

It would probably shame me and that would possibly make me do it.

I'm actually feeling some shame right now.
