I can't vouch for that cause I never played Silent Hill, but I bet I could spot a Shakespeare ref from a mile away.

130 is best sonnet.

While we're at it, I think its funny that you all wonder how Surprise could know Shakespeare yet you don't at all question her playing a PS1 game.

Well, I guess we kinda just roll with it due to Rule of Funny.

All the thread's a stage, and all the sockpuppets merely players.

Well the really obnoxious riddle only appear on the highest difficulty.

Edit: I looked it up and it's from Silent Hill 3. Nevermind then.

I'll just copy paste it from the internet. In the book store you find a five volume Shakespeare anthology containing Romeo and Juliet, King Lear, Macbeth, Hamlet, and Othello. There is also a memo that reads as follows. You need to find a four digit code to enter the next room.

"In here is a tragedy—- art thou player or audience? Be as it may, the end doth remain: all go on only toward death.

The first words at thy left hand: a false lunacy, a madly dancing man. Hearing unhearable words, drawn to a beloved's grave—-and there, mayhap, true madness at last.

As did this one, playing at death, find true death at the last. Killing a nameless lover, she pierced a heart rent by sorrow.

Doth lie invite truth? Doth verity but wear the mask of falsehood? Ah, thou pitiful, thou miserable ones!

Still amidst lies, though the end cometh not, wherefore yearn for death? Wilt thou attend to thy beloved? Truth and lies, life and death: a game of turning white to black and black to white.

Is not a silence brimming with love more precious than flattery? A peaceful slumber preferred to a throne besmirched with blood.

One vengeful man spilled blood for two; Two youths shed tears for three; Three witches disappeared thusly; And only the four keys remain.

Ah, but verily... In here is a tragedy—- art thou player or audience? There is nothing which cannot become a puppet of fate or an onlooker, peering into the cage."

Here goes.

madly dancing man = Hamlet

unbearable words = ghost

beloved's grave = Ophelia

this one, playing at death = Juliet

nameless lover = Romeo

the mask of falsehood = Iago

love more precious than flattery = Lady Macbeth

throne besmirched with blood = Duncan

Do you have to stack the books in that order or something to get the code?

Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, Othello, and Macbeth.

Wait, I forgot Lear! He's the yearn for death one!

Well I was playing (rather, Raydence was playing—I only watched) and all I saw was...

A guy looking for his daughter and needing a FASCIST to rescue him from stabby crotch-stabber demons, and then he runs from dogs and gets cryptic clues that tell him to break and enter. It was all of course totally an allegory for how Mr. Mason is totally starving and went dumpster-diving for food and was happy he could raid cabinets instead. That's why it was night when he left the house on Levin St, ya know.

The school part made me go to sleep.

BUT THEN DAHLIA GILLESPIE CAME AND WAS TOTALLY AWESOME!

Then at some point or other Harry found a hammer and started beating things with it, and Raydence joked that the game might as well be called "Hammerin' Harry" now.

It ends up being that someone is doodling pictures of Sam-I-Am around town to force a child to have kids... and that was the first and last thing that really disturbed me.

Then you fight the lamest evil overlord of all time. He's weak against Para Scientific Kool-Aid and can be taken down by a man with a rifle.

By the way when we fought the FASCIST on the carousel, we totally beat her up. It was great!

Can't wait for Silent Hill 2!

I don't think it's humanly possible to "keep up" with this thread, even between seasons. I tend to just focus on the bits I can see whenever I drop in.
