@Con: I have to admit I didn't find it particularly funny either; the entire thing seems to run off of "LOL the ponies are cute but it's also gory isn't that hilarious!?". It's like there isn't really anything going for it other than the contrast between the source material and the tone of the video, and that's really only amusing for a few seconds at best. There needs to be some sort of cleverness or comedic timing, and I didn't really see any in there.

The Joker's magic trick is hilarious because the situation bounces back and forth between silly and serious. There's a big mob-boss meeting, a clown shows up acting like a party magician and then BAM he kills a dude. It was sudden shock that made it morbidly funny. The cupcakes video basically tries to stretch that shock value out over 3 minutes and I personally don't think it works.

Ima have to go with Syd on this one. I enjoy a bit of dark humor myself, only so long as its just talk. Making fun of Raritys PTSD from the war in FIW is hilarious! But as soon as the blood and guts show up, you've lost me. and yes, I hate HTF with a vengeance.

@Ace: That was EPIC.

My favorite scene in the movie is the Eye Scream thing in the museum, but that one's a close second. It's so cathartic to see him smashed into the floor after hours of being so damn evil and sexy.

I'll find some pony Avengers to go with this now.

The facial expressions are what does it for me. The tone is so light and happy, even though the subject matter is dark. I like that sort of thing.
