[up][up]I'm actually re-reading Animorphs now. Its just as awesome as I remember. I just finished Visser, which I think is an excellent treatise on human nature.

[up] Happy birthday!

Thanks. Now I'm almost old enough to convince other people to buy booze for me. My older sister's gonna be 21 in October, so there's that... But my mom let me try wine, cause it was my birthday. I thought I might like it, cause even though I tried church wine in 2nd grade and didn't like it, she said it tasted better.

She was wrong.

It still tastes like medicine. At this rate, I'll never be a Drunken Master.

Also, never read the Animorphs. Can any of them become ponies?

Plus, welcome new brony! Have you gotten an elevator pass yet?

I came across...something interesting about Trixie Lulamoon here. If you scroll down the page, you should see a picture showing Trixie wearing a black, gray and red necklace.

Is this something official, or is this just non-canon fan art?
Oh, Equestria, we stand on guard for thee!

@Tiggers That was a picture leaked along with some screenshots from what is (presumably) the end of Season 3. And that's all we know.

I don't know where I stand on whether or not The Merch counts as an extension of canon All There in the Manual style, but I do know that Lulamoon is what her last name is on the box. wild mass guess Maybe it's an alias for when she hits up the next town.

BTW, you guys, I've warmed up to Trixie a little. I still can't stand how some people portray her as a good guy, but I kinda like to hate her now instead of just hating her. I had an idea that Flim, Flam, and her could all be con artists and try to pull some kinda heist dealy. They would all be convinced of their own badassery while being comedically inept.

@Sinclair Are we talking a Mirrodin-style artificial plane, or something else here? I've always enjoyed the idea of Equestria being a single plane in the multiverse of MTG. Celestia and Luna are totally old-walkers.

It could be a flat planet like Disc World. Otherwise, it would always be day or night somewhere, and Luna and Celestia kinda make that seem otherwise.

wild mass guess Or... maybe other sides of the planet have their own deities for day and night! Maybe Luna and Celestia are only the local godesess, and there's a sun and moon goddess to watch over the sun and moon for when it's day and night elsewhere. There could be zebra and griffon and dragon equivalents!

Based on scenes in several episodes, including:

  • ponies cleaning up so that winter can end and spring arrive, implying that if they don't, the seasons won't change.
  • Weather Patrol doing climate control up to and including manufacturing individual snowflakes
  • ponies holding a race so that leaves could fall off trees
  • Princess Celestia and Princess Luna rising the sun and moon respectively
  • the following comment: "The Evergreen Forest ain't natural! Trees grow, animals take care of themselves, and clouds move ALL BY THEMSELVES!"

All of this points to there being virtually no natural weather or flora in much of Equestria (excluding said forest).

I was thinking more Gensokyo, actually.

[up][up][up]It's almost a Deconstruction of magic. The laws of physics can't work the same way as they normally would, so they have to do things that would naturally have occurred in a universe with more conventional mechanics manually.

[up][up] Thanks!

[up]I know it's most likely a reference to all those old myths about faeries and whatnot painting flowers, making trees grow and all that, but this is a WMG. :P

In that case, Ima cut right to the chase and say that Lauren Faust is a Time Lady.

My personal theory is that that stuff would occur on it's own, but it would be more dangerous and unpredictable; having the pegasi in control of the weather prevents droughts, flooding, hurricanes, blizzards, etc. They've just grown so used to it that the idea of it happening without pony interference freaks them out.

Also Happy Birthday, Con!

Thanks, JT.

And btw, I started watching Cowboy Bebop, (which I think you recommended to me — if not you, then someone else in the forum) and the first thing I did was look up My Little Pony related fanart.

As demonstrated here.

I think I might have a problem.

On the Everfree, my headcanon (as I've said a few times) is that the reason that it works the natural way is because Celestia and Luna's fight was so titanic in the power they used that it made the forest (or whatever it was back then) what it is now able to do weather and seasons and stuff on it's own.

wild mass guess Maybe the Everfree isn't enchanted, and In a World where the norm is that all the forests are magic, having one that's otherwise normal is strange (despite all the otherwise fantastical creatures that inhabit it).

Anyway, I'm sure Celestia knows all the eldritch secrets of her mystical land. She needs to write a trashy tell-all memoir.

Wow, I didn't know the show was a big thing in Russia. I find that kind of intriguing. And that Celestia bedset...
