Omnivore doesn't mean you can eat everything. We can't eat front lawns and weeds and flowers. (That would have been so convenient, wouldn't it? No food in the middle of a jungle? Just chew on a vine or something.)

Well, there isn't good eating in vines unless there's fruit growing on it.

Everfree must have some seriously good fruits and tubers growing in it to support such fierce megafauna.
