I have to admit that I'm partially responsible for the perpetuation of the Wet Mane Rarity thing, at least on this thread.

Well, Sisterhooves wasn't Spectacular like the episodes before it, but it was a solid episode and an interesting look into an ordinary day of sorts.

@van Are you watching "Best Night Ever"? Blueblood is a massive douche, but "The Colour You Bleed" is about his redemption. I haven't read it, but apparently it's good.

you and almost everyone else

I like Through the Eyes of Another Pony and the way it handled him, very first thing Firewall does when he sees Blueblood for the first time is run up to him, hit him right across the jaw yelling "That's for Miss Rarity!" Right in front of an elite guard pony that was just tasked with keeping Firewall out of trouble.

I tend to avoid Blueblood redemption stories just because I enjoy hating him so much more.

Ditto; he's a lot more entertaining as a douchebag.

Read My Little Alicorn, it cranks his douchieness Up to Eleven and then some. First thing he does in the fic is petition (not for the first time it seems) the princess to allow him to burn Ponyville to the ground for the heinous, horrible crime of harboring the ponies that DARED to ruin HIS night at the gala. He goes down hill from there.

granted the sequel is a redemption fic for him, but it's handled well.

Season 1 done: best ep "Dog and Pony Show" worst ep "Ticket Master". Over all this season is extreamly hit of miss. Mostly miss IMO.

I think that goes past douchebag territory. The most amusing thing about it is how stupidly petty he is.

@van "Dog and Pony Show" is one of my favorite episodes, but I believe you're one of the few others here to enjoy it.

@Van That is actually my exact opinion for best and worst episodes of those seasons. tongue

[up]Lies. I think I remember it winning Season One back when we voted off episodes from a list one at a time.

I agree with A Dog and Pony Show being the one of the best episodes of S1, but I think there are a couple episodes I liked less than Ticket Master. Sure, it didn't really have an original plot, but I felt like it executed the plot well enough. Not particularly memorable, though.

And yeah, I feel like Dog and Pony Show is one of the most consistently popular episodes around here.

Dog And Pony Show is okay to me. Some funny bits, Rarity is awesome, and fun seeing Spike doing some Badass Adorable stuff for a change. But the Gollum-er- Diamond Dogs seem a tad predictable and they range from funny to annoying (as does Rarity, but that's probably deliberate).

I'm not sure about truly unpopular episodes in Season One, though I know some like Over The Barrel and Boast Busters are really mixed recieved.

I could have sworn we did. Maybe I misremembered.

I kind of like "Ticket Master" just because it actually contributes to the finale's plot. I wish they'd done something like that in Season 2. Maybe the letter the dragons burned in "Dragon Quest" could've been the invite to the wedding, or Rarity could've met Shiny during "Sweet and Elite".

Ticketmaster was one of my favorites when I first watched it, but it didn't hold up so well on repeat viewings.

I feel a little odd, Dog and Pony Show is actually pretty low on my list.

Feeling Pinkie Keen also gets pretty mixed reactions, mostly due to the flubbed moral.

Over a Barrel and Owls Well That Ends Well tend to be the two episodes that are consistently ranked toward the bottom of S1. And I tend to agree.

FPK tends to get a sort of "it's pretty good apart from the botched moral".

It's hard to say my least favorite in Season One, since a lot of episodes I find irritating are usually saved by some truly memorable redeeming aspect. eg. Boast Busters is very Anvilicious, but it has Trixie, while Ticket Master is similarly goody goody and predictable, but has some neat character establishment from nearly all the main characters. Season Two is when things slide a little, but even then aren't horrible.

My favorite is probably Fall Weather Friends though. I love when two equally (in)competent egos go all out war on each other. Look Before You Sleep is similar but FWF wins for RD vs AJ.

I have to say that I think Look Before You Sleep is really underrated. It's probably in my top five for S1.

My favorite part of Ticketmaster was how RD completely misses the point at the end. And there's also other hilarious moments like Fluttershy's spring cleaning.

[up][up]And Applebuck Season. Sorta debunks the myth AJ can't hold episodes herself.

I also think LBYS is better than most people give it credit for. I think its around when I started liking Rarity more as well.
