Remember, Scootaloo can pull a fully loaded wagon with her wings. So whatever the problem is that makes her unable to fly, it's certainly not a lack of strength.

I don't mind Scoots being some kind of disabled. Disabled people are still people, and they're not necessarily living some perpetually bleak existence. They have their strengths and weaknesses just like everyone else, and they're perfectly capable of kicking ass. (The term disabled can be kind of a misnomer that way.)

Yes, Katawa Shoujo influenced my opinion a lot on that regard. Also, a can't-fly-but-still-has-her-scooter Scootaloo makes me think of Emi.

I don't want to ever wish this on Scoots, but perhaps she gets into an accident that busts her wings up (much like what Rainbow Dash). All of her plans that she was going to do with the CMC gets thrown out the window because of that. In her recovery, she learns that she has some skills in no flight/wing related things.

Also, surprised that Scoots hasn't see this discussion yet.tongue
Yeah, Andromeda is heading for you. You got over 9000 years until it collides.

@Kyler: like I said, wrong muscle bunches exercised. She's not exercising her Lift groups and entirely grinding her Thrust muscle groups, so she lacks the strength to actually take off.

I cant do a lot of things that other members of my race can do... and I dont get super bummed about it.. I just focus on the few things I can do well.. like eat, and sleep.[lol]

Eh, I take Pound Cake as evidence against the basics of flight being a learned skill. That, and Ponyville Confidential showed that not only was she incapable of flight in her current condition, but that it was quite a sore point for her. Sore enough for it to be blackmail material, at least.

I honestly don't know if I want this story for Scoots...on the one hand, its incredably interesting and powerful...but on the other hand...poor Scoots.

Also...this reminds me...what's the deal with sweetie and magic?

Have we ever seen Sweetie Belle even attempt to do magic? I think she might have tried in Sisterhooves Social.

wild mass guessScoots cannot fly well and will be unable to fly well unless she starts exercising her wings at flight-based exercises instead of scooting-based exercises.wild mass guess

Chrysalis's transformation sequence is very much Dark Magical Girl

Scoots might have a talent with vehicles no other pegasus can have.

Well, it hasn't even been indirectly referenced like Scootaloo's flight-deficiency, so we really don't know much of anything about Sweetie Belle and magic. Even Twilight had issues with it when she was young, though, so it probably just "clicks" easier for some ponies than others.

Something that occured to me. Have we ever seen pony stepladders? It seems inconvienent for a quadruped.

I do believe that we have seen stepladders at one point or another, as well as normal ladders. Stepladders would actually be rather handy for getting a better view of something just above eye level, though I'm not sure how they would climb normal ladders.

Eh, the girls have dealt with the danger of nearly dying (or actually being technically dead for a bit in Twi's case) more than a few times. Plus three separate threats that could end in the world being pretty messed up. I don't think a Scoots episode like that would be much darker.

EDIT: Normal ladders show up in the first episode. Not sure about step ladders, though.

Maybe Scootaloo is young for her age.

I actually like Lauren Faust's idea for a Scootaloo episode. It sounds like an intreasting idea. Too bad the show will never use it, but what can you really do about that except shrug and move on?tongue

I mean that her body is like a four year old when she's a seven year old.

It happened to me, I had an eight-year-old bone structure when I was twelve. -midget and all that-

QFT.

Also, what's this about Twilight being technically dead at one point?
