I loved Spike's power fantasy.[lol]
The Eleventh Doctor is cool.

It would be too hard for me to come up with a tier list, but I love the variety in the ones I've seen so far.
Admittedly about fifty percent enlightenmentCaveman too.

Maybe I'd have liked it better if I didn't have the twist spoiled beforehand.

I just found that establishing that the audience's general views and expectations of a character were actually exactly the same as the general views and expectations of the character in-universe before subverting them was brilliant writing. Most shows will just have a character's competence be an Informed Ability that everyone in-universe already knows of.

I still want a Scootaloo centric episode in season 3.

Everyone does. waii

Well, except for those who would rather just have the CMC get Put on a Bus and never be heard from again.

Of course, a Scootaloo episode would ruin my headcanon of Scoots being a street urchin but I can live with that.tongue
The Eleventh Doctor is cool.

Yes, the CMC should absolutely be put on a bus to their own spin off show.

Does Equestria even have buses?

Well, back in the day buses were just huge horse-drawn carriages, so probably.

There was that bus-type-thing in MMDW, wasn't there? A tour bus, it looked like. So there's that.

@Sereg: We''l sorry it took so long, but it was pretty difficult to neatly place them all in five different Tiers. So here it is for anyone who cares. . .

  • Tier 1: Sisterhooves Social, Sonic Rainboom, Hurricane Fluttershy, Winter Wrap-Up, Secret of My Excess, Sweet and Elite, Griffon the Brush Off, A Dog and Pony Show, Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000, Suited for Success

  • Tier 2: Family Appreciation Day, May the Best Pet Win!, Baby Cakes, Putting Your Hoof Down, , The Best Night Ever, Green Isn’t Your Color, Stare Master, Cutie Mark Chronicles, Friendship is Magic

  • Tier 3: The Cutie Pox, A Canterlot Wedding, Applebuck Season, Bridle Gossip, Boast Busters, Ponyville Confidential, The Last Roundup, A Friend Indeed, Dragon Quest, Party of One, Swarm of the Century

  • Tier 4: MM Mystery On the Friendship Express, Luna Eclipsed, Call of the Cutie, Fall Weather Friends, Dragonshy, Look Before You Sleep, Owl’s Well That Ends Well, Over a Barrel, Feeling Pinkie Keen, Read It and Weep, The Show Stoppers

  • Tier 5: The Mysterious Mare Do Well, It’s About Time, Lesson Zero, Ticket Master, Hearth’s Warming Eve, Return of Harmony, Heart’s and Hooves Day, A Bird In the Hoof

Not sure what it says about me, but it can't be anything good.

[up][up] Which is weird, because you wouldn't think Ponyville would have a lot of tourism.

Equestria, as I see it anyway, is just starting to see the large returns of steam power. Most trains in Equestria are steam powered, with the exception of the one from Over a Barrel that I can't remember. In my personal headcannon that is actually the last train line that is still run by good old pony power and the rail guys are proud of it. The only other thing that seems to be steam powered is the Flim Flam brothers jusicing machine and that seems to be a custom job. So I don't think motor vehicles are around yet, or if they are they're all expensive luxury items owned by people like Blueblood and the like.

I persoanlly just think that the train in Over a Barrel was broken, and they had to get out and pull. tongue

I tend to think of Equestria as being around turn of the 20th century or so, so to my mind Cars are a ways off, but not TOO far. Heh. I recall readign a short story where the nephew of the couches-and-quills pony invented it. He was called Ottoman... so he named it the Otto-mobile.

As for the oddity of tourism... my thoughts on it are, the tourists are coming to look at the base of operations for the element bearers! Of course they don't know who the element bearers ARE, since that would disrupt their lives rather considerably.

I don't think that you can equate the technology to any particular time period, since Equestria lacks the wars that drove our own technological advancement and has magic to reduce the necessity that would drive invention otherwise. That's why you don't see much outside of trains in the area of transport, but you see more modern things in the realm of entertainment, like arcade machines, movie projectors, and spotlights for stage shows.

That is the most sensible in universe explanation.

[up][up]I don't know, seems like we primarily disagree, in some cases quite radically (Griffon a Brush Off, Lesson Zero etc.).

Isn't that a tautology?

Isn't that a tautology?

I suppose so.

@Mio: Yeah, I noticed that, but we do agree on some things. Besides, I knew that you disagreed with me on a lot of things from previous conversations anyway.

EDIT: From your bottom tier, I suspect that you dislike over the topness, which is something that I tend to like, so that's something.

It would be weirder if there was someone who did agree completely.
