And yeah, I totally agree that Luna is probably a whole lot more impatient and pragmatic than Celestia is. Celestia is more of a "let's explore all of our options before proceeding" whereas Luna isn't content to sit and watching things happen for very long. I get the feeling that if she had been present at Chrysalis' unveiling, she would have attacked mid-monologue.

Slight Missed Moment of Awesome there. I'd have liked to see that.

It would be an interesting relationship: the goddess associated with the sun is more cool-headed than the one associated with the moon. Then again, Luna is kind of a teenager right now.

@JT: But that would have been quite rude of Luna. We all know that when a villain is giving a speech about his/her evil plan, the polite thing to do is let them finish, and THEN attack him/her. Sheesh, even the DBZ heroes are more polite then Luna.

Actually, that would have been pretty awesome, I'll admit.

Yeah, it would be nice to play on expectations that way. I really hope we get more Luna in season 3.

As noted, she isn't really the type to adhere to those conventions unless it involves terrorizing the commoners by shouting.

Although it would be hilarious if Luna tried to charge, but Celestia stopped her.

Just as well; that's where Luna's videogames are. Makes me remember how my parents never grounded me because I wouldn't have cared. They were all "go to your room" and I was like "Okay, that's where my toys are".

Personally I think Luna is an adult, though not as old as Celestia. She certainly doesn't seem like much of a teenager to me.

@JT: For me, it was "Go to your room" and "Okay, that's where my toys, my nintendo gamecube and my DVD/VHS combo are at". Though it became alot more easier for them to ground me once I got addicted to the internet.

Luna does need to appear alot more though. Their are quite a bit of intreasting things that could be learn't about her.

Luna is basically somebody who's technically an adult but doesn't have the normal amount of social experience for her age. And given her reaction to the whole jealousy thing that started the mess, I don't think it's a bad assumption that she was somewhat immature to start with.

I have to wonder how much Celestia noticed Luna's jealousy in the days before Nightmare Moon.

In Luna Eclipsed, some of that 'Nobody likes me' attitude that precipitated her transformation into NMM is still apparent. Hopefully she has a better handle on it now.

Regarding Word of god: Before anyone says that Faust's word is not canon, that could be true, and I know that she said that she's not sure what the writers will do with stuff like that, but untill/unless the show itself states otherwise, their's not much of a reason to not take her word for it. Not right now, anyway.

Even if that's the case (let's not start that argument again), it seems that she probably wasn't handling it well even before she went evil. Given what we know of her character, she definitely seems to have a bit of an inferiority complex and doesn't take rejection well.

Yeah, what Faust says is all well and good, but the show proper trumps it.

And naturally the thread would pick up just as I have to go to bed. Oh well, guess I'll catch up tomorrow. Goodnight everybody.
