regarding Gilda and griffons in general:

I've pointed this out in the past, but griffons are the only civilized creatures we've seen without hooves. well, depending on if you count the dragons as civilized.

everything else without hooves has either been a furry woodland critter or a mythical monster.

I'm sure there's some sort of significance to that.

I would think that a MLP Dwarf equivalent would be some kind of Mole or Gopher type creature. Maybe even the Diamond Dogs count as Dwarves?

Im guessing it would be safe to assume that there are no humanoid races in Equestria. Perhaps anthropomorphic but not humanoid like elves or goblins or even orks.
