I think the initial Lauren Faust reasoning was to avoid the idea that girls shows are only about relationships. But this show is beyond all the stereotypes and prejudices at this point.
They've had a whole two seasons with next to nothing being about relationships, though, and relationships are an important thing that lessons can be learned about. I'm not saying that the show should do it, necessarily, jut that it very easy could do it quite well, IMO.
A relationship episode? I'm indifferent to the idea myself, I think the creators can pull it off well, but depending on how they do it, it might raise problems in the fandom...
I dunno it just seems kinda unnecessary to me. I don't think it would add enough to the show to be worth the trouble.
Well, yeah, nothing is necessary. That's a given. I'm just talking about what I think would be nice to see, and altering the group dynamics over the course of the show's lifespan would be a nice way to bring development and keep things fresh, IMO.
Okay, I can't stay away :P. I'll be offline for probably about an hour now for yardwork though.

If they ever make a sequel series to this show and use the Elements of Harmony again, I want one to given to a male character. I just want to see what will happen.
An episode centered around flying with disagreements stemming from Twi's book knowledge on aeronautics and Dashie's practical flying talent could be interesting.
